Trinc Clothing limited

 My new business project.

The name Trinc is an amalgamation of Muscles inc and Tri sports coaching.  Tri sports coaching was the business name of my friend Chris who passed away in 2008 after battling depression.  Part of the story for this business is linked with mental health and as such there will be a percentage of profits donated to mental health causes.

If you are wondering why cycle clothing?

This whole concept started out several years ago as I was thinking of opening my own cycle clothing store as most of  the local bike shops seem to do a poor job of cycle clothing. As that concept has evolved Trinc has been born out of a need for an own brand for the store.  Yes a clothing store is still part of the long term plan however initially it will be online and more details on that much later.

The really exciting thing for me is that this project allows me to be creative and hopefully that will come through when you start to see the products.  There is still a massive amount of work to do before the business is live and selling product. With the arrival of the first samples I now have something real and tangible and that's been very motivating it must be said.  It has taken a reasonable amount of time to get from an idea to a name through to logos, the first design concept and now to seeing the samples.  So lots to do but have a quick read and I will be making weekly updates over the next few weeks

Just starting out

As the title suggests Trinc is only just starting out.  Right now I am at the product development stage and while there is no website yet it will come soon.  I am using this Muscles inc page as a start point so that I can take you on my journey to getting this venture up and running.

Product testers application form

As I mentioned on face book I am looking for some product testers.  If you are keen to be involved then here's the product tester form.

Please fill it out and fire it back to me.

Just bear in mind I am looking for real world cyclists and its not about being elite or front of the pack - I just need people who can be objective and are going to use the clothing

Face book page now up and running

Trinc on face book
October 15 - the face book page has just gone live.

Just a small comment on the face book posts.  At the end of every post i will always say: Hugs John. I am a huge fan of hugs being a great way of showing you care.

So bearing in mind a key aspect of Trinc is about mental health and a hug is a great way of just caring I thought it would be just a little thing.  And if you see me in person I am always up for a hug.

Chris Mac- Still inspiring me

My Friend Chris who lost his battle with Depression in 2008. We had always talked about the name Trinc and working together on a project.  While he is not here I think he would approve that 11 years later it is becoming a reality
Product samples: better pictures coming soon but you can see the Morse code concept - more information on that below

Trinc - the new Logo

This is the original version and concept of the Logo designed by one of my clients - Noelle Balita.  It has been tweaked a little since this version as the font i wanted was not going to transfer onto print and fabric

dot dot dot dash dash dash dot dot dot - its ok to ask for help

So  one of the concepts is using Morse code and SOS the international distress call.  The idea is that if you are struggling then its ok to ask for help.  I wanted to keep the concept a little subtle and hopefully by using a combination of the words and the graphic it will become a start point for opening communication.  Going forward there will be a rainbow version of the graphic to highlight the same concept for people who are struggling with their sexuality and again that its ok to ask for help.
Obviously it can be a case of you need to ask the right people for help but I would like to hope that this whole concept is a way to bring those conversations into a more enlightened society.

Things are getting real

So with the arrival of the first product samples it is starting to become real.  I am still several months away from being in a position to sell product however the first samples are looking great and the next phase is testing the fabrics, looking at the designs and seeing where we can improve and at the same time working on new products.

Special thanks to Casey Fairclough Trinc's graphic designer for putting my concepts into digital form.

Sample Kit - Dan's cycle gear

Sample kit - light weight T

The first cycle tops were inspired by my sons love of blues and the fact that he does not like anything over the top so I aimed for subtle.  Its also been a great test of the graphics and logos on fabrics.  The Chamois in the short looks super plush and will be testing that out this weekend
The light weight running T shirts  are part of the launch plan as they are a little more cost effective to produce at start up.  Hopefully they will appeal to a broader market and I will look to have a cotton or Merino version as well.

Over the next few weeks I will start adding more photos of the product actually being worn.

There will be a few people out there testing the clothing for me.  If you are interested in being what I like to call a crash test dummy  then please feel free to contact me.

So check back soon to watch the development of a new business.

Coming soon - the new DO suit - its not a Tri suit as we do not tri we do - and we do things like triathlon, time trialing, cyclocross and even swim run.  so our suit is designed for people who DO
In the mean time i have lots of work to do.

Kind regards

John
